🔧 About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Technical Sales Engineer – Gearboxes to join our NSW team.

This exciting role combines mechanical engineering expertise, technical problem-solving, customer relationship management and business development. You’ll work closely with industrial customers, OEMs, engineering consultants, distributors and end users, helping them select and optimise gearbox and power transmission solutions that improve reliability, efficiency and performance.

⚒️ What You’ll Be Doing

🤝 Build Strong Customer Relationships

• Develop trusted partnerships with customers, OEMs, engineering consultants and distributors.
• Identify opportunities to provide value-added technical solutions.

⚙️ Engineer the Right Solution

• Analyse customer requirements, operating conditions, specifications and drawings.
• Select and recommend gearbox, geared motor and power transmission solutions.
• Perform engineering assessments relating to torque, load requirements, service factors and performance.

📋 Prepare Technical Proposals & Quotations

• Develop technical and commercial quotations.
• Create engineered solutions tailored to customer applications.

🚗 Get Out in the Field

• Conduct customer and site visits throughout NSW.
• Assess applications and provide technical support, troubleshooting and recommendations.

🎤 Share Your Expertise

• Deliver technical presentations and product training.
• Support customers with installation, operation and maintenance advice.

📈 Grow the Business

• Support business development activities and identify new opportunities within the NSW market.
• Work closely with interstate colleagues and international WEG factories to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

⭐ What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong understanding of Gearboxes, Geared Motors, Power Transmission Equipment and Industrial Mechanical Systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and industry standards
• Exceptional communication and customer relationship skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• A proactive and results-focused approach
• Experience delivering technical presentations and training
