Position: ASO6 Project and Procurement Officer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Approx. 9 months with potential to extend
Pay rate: $67.70 to $88.94 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Citizenship requirements: Must be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident at time of application

Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project and Procurement Officer to join a government organisation delivering major land development and urban infrastructure projects across the ACT.

Working within a collaborative project delivery team, you will provide procurement and project administration support across a range of land development initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects that help shape sustainable communities while working in a supportive, professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement processes, including coordinating documentation, approvals, meetings, timelines and stakeholder input.
• Prepare, manage and monitor consultant briefs, contracts and project budgets.
• Draft reports, briefing notes, correspondence and operational planning documents.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with record management requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Provide general project and administrative support as required.

Experience/requirements

• Experience supporting procurement activities and project administration within a government or similar environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefs and correspondence.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Experience managing project documentation, consultant contracts and budgets.
