Steel Machine Operators

Backam Group is currently seeking experienced Machine Operators and Overhead Crane Operators to join a leading manufacturer within the wire and steel products industry.

These positions offer ongoing opportunities across Day, Afternoon and Night Shifts with immediate starts available for the right candidates.

Location: Glendenning & St Marys location
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Shifts Available:

• Day 6am - 2pm $33.85ph - $37.61ph
• Afternoon shift 2pm - 10pm $38.93ph
• Night Shift 10pm - 6am $48.90ph

Employment Type: Casual, Temp to perm opportunities

You will be working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, operating machinery, cutting and bending steel and wire products, and contributing to a safe and productive workplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operators

• Operating shearers and benders that cut and bend steel
• Monitoring production processes and quality standards
• Conducting basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area

Overhead Crane Operators

• Safe operation of overhead cranes
• Moving and positioning steel and wire products
• Loading trucks and production lines
• Following site safety procedures and lifting plans
• Working closely with production teams to meet operational targets

ABOUT YOU

You are reliable, safety-focused, and thrive in a heavy steel manufacturing environment.

To be considered, you will have:

✔ Previous machine operating experience within manufacturing or production environments
✔ Overhead crane experience
✔ Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
✔ Ability to work rotating shifts if required
✔ Good communication skills and attention to detail
✔ Reliable transport and current driver's licence preferred
✔ Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
