IDT Australia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Engineering team on a casual basis to support an exciting period of increased project activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 3–5 years' experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food or other highly regulated manufacturing industries who enjoys working across a variety of engineering projects rather than sitting behind a desk all day.
You'll work alongside an experienced engineering team delivering facility upgrades, equipment installations, process improvements and qualification activities while supporting manufacturing operations across our GMP pharmaceutical facility.
No two days are the same.
About the Role:Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead smaller engineering projects from concept through to implementation while providing technical engineering support across the site.Typical work may include:Delivering capital and operational improvement projectsPreparing project scopes, budgets and technical specificationsCoordinating contractors and external vendorsSupporting equipment installation, commissioning and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)Assisting with validation documentation where requiredSupporting engineering investigations and technical problem solvingIdentifying opportunities for process improvement and increased manufacturing efficiencyWorking closely with Production, Quality, Validation, Maintenance and Operations teamsEnsuring all engineering activities comply with GMP, quality and safety requirements
About You:We're looking for someone who enjoys variety and can quickly integrate into an experienced engineering team.
You'll ideally bring:Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Manufacturing or Electrical EngineeringApproximately 3–5 years' engineering experience within pharmaceutical or another regulated manufacturing environmentExperience delivering engineering or capital projectsExposure to GMP manufacturing environmentsExperience working with contractors and suppliersStrong technical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments
Desirable experience includes:Qualification and Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)Process improvement or Lean ManufacturingPharmaceutical manufacturing facilitiesUtilities and process equipmentAutoCAD or similar design softwareProject management methodologies
