Project Engineer – Clean Lithium Technology 

Play a key role in delivering the pilot plant upgrade program for a clean tech company transforming lithium refining.

We’re at an exciting stage of growth and are looking for a capable, delivery-focused Project Engineer to deliver the pilot plant upgrade program at our Alexandria, NSW facilities.

This is a hands-on execution role, working closely with the Project Director, where you’ll work across technical coordination, contractor management and on-site delivery to bring Novalith’s technology closer to commercial scale.

What You’ll Do

As Project Engineer, you’ll plan, coordinate and execute the engineering and delivery activities required to complete the pilot plant upgrades. You’ll be trusted to drive work packages from scope definition through to commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver assigned work packages for the pilot plant upgrades, including planning, design coordination, documentation, site execution and hands-on problem solving. 
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and equipment vendors, including scope definition, technical reviews, performance monitoring and interface management. 
• Apply the project management frameworks, including schedule updates, cost tracking, change control, risk registers, action registers and progress reporting. 
• Support procurement activities including RFQs, technical and commercial evaluations, purchase orders and expediting. 
• Work with internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers and vendors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and keep project deliverables moving. 

You’ll also support installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, review technical documentation, maintain project records and contribute to reporting and project close-out.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a capable project engineer who enjoys hands-on delivery, contractor coordination and seeing projects built and commissioned.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline recognised by Engineers Australia, ideally chemical or mechanical engineering. 
• 5+ years’ experience in project engineering or capital project delivery. 
• Experience delivering projects in chemical processing, minerals processing, hydrometallurgy, battery chemicals, industrial process plants or related sectors. 
• Experience with process plant upgrades, brownfield works, installation and commissioning, and coordinating contractors on site. 

Experience with Microsoft Office including Project, along with AutoCAD or related engineering software will be valuable. Experience working within structured project management frameworks and project controls systems will be highly regarded. A current Class C Drivers License is required.
