Advanced Educator - Early Childhood

We are a small, community based early learning service looking for a Diploma Qualified Educator to join our team as an Advanced Educator.

At Taroom Early Learning Centre, we keep things child-centred and hands on. Our days are guided by children's interests, strong relationships, nature play, and real connection with families.

Responsibilities include:

n Advanced Childcare Educator typically takes on responsibilities beyond those of a standard early childhood educator, including leadership, mentoring, curriculum planning, and supporting children's development.

Key responsibilities include:

Plan and implement educational programs that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.

Observe and document children's learning and development, using observations to plan meaningful learning experiences.

Provide high-quality care and supervision, ensuring children are safe, supported, and engaged.

Lead and mentor other educators, sharing knowledge, modelling best practice, and supporting professional development.

Develop strong relationships with families, communicating regularly about children's progress, wellbeing, and learning.

Support inclusion and diversity, adapting experiences and environments to meet individual children's needs and abilities.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through respectful, child-centred approaches.

Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and quality standards, including health, safety, safeguarding, and documentation requirements.

Contribute to curriculum and room planning, helping create stimulating and inclusive learning environments.

Build positive relationships with children, encouraging independence, confidence, curiosity, and participation.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to maintain consistent standards of care and education.

Identify and respond to developmental concerns, communicating appropriately with families and relevant professionals when additional support may be required.

Reflect on and continuously improve practice, using professional knowledge, observations, and feedback to improve outcomes for children.
