About the role
Galungara Public School opened in 2021 and aspires to be outstanding through the purposeful use of innovative learning environments that promote the development of creative and critical thinkers capable of deep inquiry. This encompasses the utilisation of technology-based platforms to engage in teaching and learning and a commitment to collaborative teaching in flexible learning spaces.
Galungara Public School has accommodation for approximately 1 000 students to best meet the anticipated significant and rapid growth of the area. With a current enrolment of 831 students, students K-6, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds (87%) and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (1.4%) along with three classes that cater for students with disabilities, Galungara Public prides itself on its inclusive environment.

Specific Selection CriteriaApproval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex social, emotional and complex behavioural needs.
Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate highly differentiated teaching and learning programs that meet the diverse academic, social, communication and behavioural needs of students with disability.
Highly developed communication and collaborative skills, with the capacity to work effectively with parents and carers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
Proven understanding and experience in contributing to whole-school initiatives that drive innovative practices supporting learning and wellbeing across the school.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
