Canteen Assistant - Bundaberg State High School

Bundaberg State High School is seeking a proactive and organised Canteen Assistant to support the running of our busy school canteen.

The canteen operates Monday to Friday and requires availability between 6.30am and 2.30pm. Hours may vary slightly depending on the needs of the canteen.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.92FTE), 70 hours per fortnight with flexibility for 2 x part-time staff in a job share capacity.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative and have excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will require the ability to work effectively in a small team environment as well as with the broader school community and suppliers.Experience in food preparation is desirable.

Responsibilities Include

Provide quality canteen and catering customer services including food production and food preparation dutiesCustomer and counter service (including cash handling, use of our POS system and reconciliation processes)Restocking fridges and food displays as well as general stock rotationSupport the Canteen Supervisor with stock ordering if requiredAssist with internal school cateringGeneral cleaning and hygiene duties throughout the canteenComply with health and safety food handling regulations
