About The Position

One of our operating companies, National IT, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Melbourne.

As a dedicated Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sales. Working directly alongside the CEO, you will build and own the new business function, generating opportunities, winning new clients and helping define how the business grows. You will be supported from day one with mentoring, established sales collateral, long-standing client references and a highly respected delivery team. As your impact grows, so too will your opportunity to broaden your influence across the commercial side of the business.

Responsibilities

• Own new business acquisition across Melbourne's architecture, engineering and construction sectors.
• Build and execute target account plans to generate a consistent pipeline of new opportunities.
• Prospect through phone, email and LinkedIn outreach.
• Qualify opportunities through consultative discovery conversations.
• Present tailored managed IT, Microsoft Cloud and cybersecurity solutions.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms and close profitable new business.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and activity within the CRM.
• Report sales performance and pipeline metrics to the CEO and leadership team.
• Attend networking and industry events to build referral partnerships and market presence.
• Collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure a seamless client experience from first conversation through onboarding.
• Contribute ideas and insights that help shape the evolution of the sales function.

Skills required

• 3+ years' experience in B2B new business sales.
• Demonstrated success generating your own pipeline and winning new clients.
• Experience within IT services, managed services, technology, telecommunications or SaaS is highly regarded.
• Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially minded with experience managing pipeline, forecasting and conversion metrics.
• Disciplined CRM management and sales administration.
• Confident networking with decision-makers including IT Managers, CFOs, Executive Assistants and Office Managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work autonomously.
• High integrity with a genuine customer-first approach.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).
• Confident using LinkedIn for prospecting and business development.

Desirable:

• Experience with HubSpot, ConnectWise, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo.
• Understanding of managed IT services, Microsoft Cloud and cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience using prospecting and sales intelligence platforms.
• Existing network within Melbourne's architecture, engineering or construction sectors.
