Our Operating Company, Evolve, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Southport, QLD.

This is a genuine opportunity to build something. You will be Evolve’s first dedicated BD hire, working directly alongside the CEO to build our sales function, create new opportunities and win new clients.

Responsibilities

• Own new logo acquisition across South East Queensland, from prospecting through to close.
• Build and manage targeted account lists across our ideal SMB market.
• Generate your own pipeline through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals and industry events.
• Run Connect and Discovery calls with business owners, GMs, CFOs, practice managers and other key decision makers.
• Identify client needs and recommend the right technology and security solutions—not simply the solution with the biggest commission.
• Sell Evolve’s Evaluate service, providing prospects with a valuable, expert assessment of their IT environment.
• Lead on-site meetings, prepare proposals, negotiate terms and close profitable managed services contracts.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline, forecasts and activity.
• Report pipeline, conversion and sales performance to the CEO and leadership team.
• Identify opportunities for upsell and cross-sell within our existing client base.
• Work with Team Leaders on client relationships and regular business reviews.
• Take new Evolve offerings to market and identify opportunities for growth.
• Build referral and industry relationships throughout South East Queensland.
• Research competitors and market opportunities to identify new business.
• Share sales knowledge, tips and tactics with the wider team so opportunities are never missed.
• Complete weekly and monthly sales reporting.

Skills required

• Minimum 3 years’ B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of delivering sales results.
• Experience in MSP, technology, telco or SaaS sales is highly desirable.
• Experience in the IT industry is essential. You need to understand IT terminology, managed services and technology solutions well enough to identify the right solution for a client.
• Proven success generating your own pipeline and winning new logos.
• Demonstrated results in new business, upselling and cross-selling in previous roles.
• Comfortable prospecting and creating opportunities rather than relying on an inherited pipeline.
• Strong understanding of the full sales lifecycle and consultative selling.
• Commercially minded, with strong pipeline, forecasting and conversion discipline.
• Confident communicating with business owners and senior decision makers.
• Highly disciplined with CRM and relationship management.
• A natural networker who wants to build a strong presence across South East Queensland.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, managed services and cyber security.
• Experience with ConnectWise PSA, HubSpot or Mautic is advantageous, but sales discipline and results matter more than specific systems.
• Willingness to travel across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba.
