M.J. Bale is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven and customer-focused Assistant Store Business Manager to help lead our Macquarie store.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail leader—or an outstanding senior salesperson ready to step up—to take greater ownership, develop a high-performing team and contribute directly to the store’s commercial success.

Macquarie offers a fast-paced retail environment with a diverse customer base and significant opportunities to build lasting customer relationships. Working alongside the Store Business Manager, you will help create an energetic, premium and performance-focused store experience.

As Assistant Store Business Manager, you will be a key leader within the store and support its people, performance and daily operations.

You will:

• Partner with the Store Business Manager to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Lead from the front and set a strong standard for customer service and selling.
• Coach, motivate and develop team members to improve confidence and performance.
• Support daily team briefings and maintain focus on commercial priorities.
• Deliver personalised styling advice and exceptional customer experiences.
• Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
• Develop expert knowledge of M.J. Bale products, fabrics, fits and tailoring.
• Support visual merchandising, stock management and operational compliance.
• Monitor store performance and identify opportunities to drive further growth.
• Assist with rostering, team organisation and maintaining effective floor coverage.
• Confidently lead the store in the Store Business Manager’s absence.
• Contribute to a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.

You are a motivated retail professional who enjoys delivering results, working with people and creating memorable customer experiences.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in a retail leadership, supervisory or senior sales position.
• A proven ability to achieve sales targets and key performance indicators.
• A genuine passion for premium fashion, styling and customer service.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead by example.
• The ability to coach, motivate and provide constructive feedback.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding store performance.
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• The ability to perform effectively in a busy retail environment.
• Flexibility to work across the retail roster, including weekends.

Experience in premium fashion, menswear, tailoring or luxury retail would be highly regarded. However, leadership potential, commercial drive and a genuine commitment to exceptional service are just as important.
