Diesel Motor Mechanic

About the Role

East to West Plant Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team in Belmont, WA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing and maintaining diesel-powered heavy vehicles, plant and machinery. The role will involve working in a commercial workshop environment and carrying out mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines, heavy vehicles, plant and machinery.

· Inspect, dismantle, repair, recondition and rebuild diesel engines and mechanical components.

· Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, steering, braking and hydraulic systems.

· Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil, filter and fluid changes.

· Test and tune engines and mechanical systems following repairs.

· Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop machinery to undertake repairs and component reconditioning.

· Read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical diagrams and manufacturer specifications.

· Maintain accurate service and repair records.

· Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe and professional workshop environment.

Key Requirements

· Relevant trade qualification in Diesel Motor Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related field.

· At least 3 years' relevant experience repairing and maintaining diesel-powered heavy vehicles, plant and machinery.

· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

· Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and mechanical problem-solving skills.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, specifications and mechanical diagrams.

· Experience using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop machinery.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
