About the role

This Production Estimator role sits at the heart of our residential construction program. Based in Smeaton Grange, you will be responsible for accurate whole-house material ordering across standard builds.

Working closely with Construction, Suppliers and internal teams, you will ensure every home is correctly costed, ordered and ready to build. Accuracy, structure and commercial awareness are critical to success in this role.

This is a solid, hands-on estimating position suited to someone who understands how good estimating drives build performance and site outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Accurately order materials for full residential builds
• Review plans, specifications and documentation to ensure precise and timely material orders
• Liaise with suppliers, construction teams and internal departments to resolve queries efficiently
• Identify and escalate discrepancies, contributing to continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Maintain estimating systems and ensure alignment with ACC targets and cost controls

What you’ll bring

• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in residential whole-house estimating within a volume building environment
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials and terminology
• Proven ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Experience using residential estimating software such as Databuild, Buildsoft or similar
• High level numerical, analytical and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of building techniques, legal requirements and quantitative analysis practices

Qualifications

• Qualification in Building and Construction, or
• Trade background such as Carpenter, Plumber or Electrician, or
• Demonstrated capability performing a Production Estimating role in residential construction
