About Banking and Finance

At Gilbert + Tobin, our Banking and Finance team sits at the centre of many of Australia’s most significant and complex corporate and financing transactions. We work with major domestic and international banks, private capital funds, corporates and sponsors, advising on every phase of a deal - from structuring and negotiation through to execution and restructuring.

Our team combines deep sector knowledge with a practical, solutions-focused approach, helping clients navigate high-value transactions with clarity and confidence. You’ll work alongside leading lawyers recognised for their technical excellence, commercial insight and pragmatic approach - qualities that reflect the best of how G+T delivers for its clients.

Joining the Melbourne Banking and Finance team means working on transactions that shape markets, alongside people who value collaboration, growth and a clear, client-focused mindset.

About you

We’re looking for a Senior Lawyer who thrives in a collaborative environment where your contribution is valued. You’ll be working on high-profile transactions that will stretch and grow your expertise.

You’ll ideally have:

• At least five years’ PQE in banking and finance, with experience across leveraged, acquisition, general corporate and / or real estate finance.
• A commercial mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Strong communication and relationship skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• An interest in how technology and innovation can improve the delivery of legal services.
