About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate HSE Manager to join our team and take the lead on all health, safety and environmental, matters across the organisation.
Working closely with multiple roles and teams, you’ll provide practical advice and support to ensure work is carried out safely, meets quality standards, and complies with all legislative and project requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to influence positive outcomes for our people, our projects and the communities we work in.
Please note, this role requires you to travel throughout the Pacific region on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Lead and support a positive safety and quality culture across the project.
Provide practical HSE advice to managers, supervisors and site teams.
Build strong working relationships with employees, subcontractors and clients.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure the project meets all health, safety and environmental requirements.
Carry out inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
Monitor HSE performance and follow through on improvement actions.
Assist in the development of toolbox talks and awareness topics
Reporting and Development:
Maintain HSE records and prepare regular reports.
Coordinate HSE inductions and training.
Support the ongoing development of employees and promote continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum 5 years experience in an HSE leadership role within civil and commercial construction.
Minimum 10 years experience of working on a commercial and civil construction site.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and HSE management systems.
Experience with risk management, audits, incident investigations and compliance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
Diligence with the administrative and documentation side of HSE management, including management of internal and external audits.
