The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor to join our Greater Sydney team, based at Rydalmere.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of your area, lead crews across multiple sites and play a key role in ensuring our people, clients and projects are operating safely and efficiently.

You’ll join a growing team of three full-time Supervisors, working closely with our operations and field teams to deliver consistently high standards across our projects.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Traffic Management Supervisor, you’ll be more than a site checker. You’ll be the person on the ground making sure our people, clients and projects are set up for success.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Client Management – Build strong relationships on site, confirm scope, ensure delivery meets expectations and resolve issues early and professionally.

• Safety & Compliance – Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, review risk controls and ensure crews operate to the required standards.

• Incident Management – Lead post-incident response, support investigations, conduct crew debriefs and manage client follow-up.

• People Leadership – Coach and mentor crews, develop Leading Hands and help build the next generation of great Traffic Controllers.

• Field & Office Connection – Keep communication flowing between crews, clients and the office so everyone has the information and support they need.

• Performance – Work towards monthly KPIs across safety, compliance, client satisfaction and team development.

You’ll have a direct influence on site performance, safety culture, team development and how Retro Traffic is represented to our clients.

The Hours

This is a night shift position, generally working:

7:00pm – 5:00am, 5 nights per week

Our projects don’t always operate Monday to Friday, so flexibility across the week is important. Start and finish times and nights worked may vary depending on project requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence

• Current PWZ (Prepare Work Zone) ticket

• White Card (General Construction Induction)

• Current Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Control Plans Card

• 2+ years’ proven leadership experience in traffic management or a similar field-based environment

• Strong understanding of safety, compliance and site operations

• Confident communication and people management skills

• Proactive, solutions-focused approach

• Strong organisation and time management skills

• Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the wider team

 Highly Desirable

• Motorway and/or asphalting experience

• Tier One project inductions

• Current Police Check

• Fit Test

• Drug & Alcohol Testing accreditation

• MR or HR Licence
