Automotive - Electrical Fitter

The growing demand for our products and services has increased production and we are now seeking motivated Automotive - Electrical Fitters to join our growing team at our manufacturing facility in Bundaberg.

About the Role

Our Electrical Fitters assemble, fit, operate, test, fault-find and alter 12v / 24v electrical components of our waste management equipment.  Duties include:

• Working with computer-controlled operational management systems.

• Servicing, identifying and repairing faults on electrical systems.

• Installing and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment including lighting, camera systems, proximity switches, wiring harnesses and control systems, weigh systems and reverse braking.

• Using meters, test instruments and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults.

• Repairing or replacing electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, switches and general components.

• Performing high reliability and accurate work when soldering electrical parts/harnesses.

• Following schematics and specifications when performing installations and fault finding.

• Completing all records and paperwork accurately.

Skills & Experience

We are open to candidates with experience and/or qualifications, including:

•    Certificate III in Electrical Fitting, and/or

•    Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, and/or

•    Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or

•    Relevant industry experience in automotive or heavy vehicle manufacturing

Limited experience? No problem. We are happy to provide on-the-job training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• Interest in automotive electrical and mechanical work

• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to complete panel wiring (advantageous)

• Demonstrated ability to complete panel wiring (advantageous)

• Ability to read and interpret circuit drawings (advantageous)

• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

• Excellent attention to detail 

• Great problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues

• Commitment to safety and following standard work procedures
