People Services Manager

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a People Services Manager to lead the operational engine of a mature P&C function, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer. In this role, you will own HRIS, Payroll, ER/IR, performance and remuneration cycles, and monthly HR metrics - with a small team of direct reports.

This is a genuine step up for a senior HR Business Partner or HR Operations lead ready to run a full People Services function. You will be central to the operating model, not on the sidelines.

The Role

• Lead the People Services function with several direct reports covering HRIS, Payroll and ER/IR.

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery – requiring strong systems and implementation experience.

• Provide expert ER/IR advice to managers - Award and Industrial Agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, dispute resolution.

• Own the performance cycle, remuneration/bonus rounds and the HR metrics and reporting cadence for the exec team.

• Partner the CPO and lead vendor management, transformation, change and adoption.

• Coach and develop a team and build a genuinely capable People Services team.

About You

• Proven People Services Manager, HR Operations Manager or Senior HRBP with end-to-end People Services accountability - ideally from a Tier 1 construction/engineering shared-services model or from a Tier 2 construction business.

• Strong ER/IR track record - Award interpretation, EBA experience, workplace investigations. This is non-negotiable.

• Practical HRIS and Payroll ownership.

• People leader who has grown a team, not just done the work solo.

• Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR or a related discipline.
