About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Practice Assistant to join our Financial Markets and Regulation team within our Banking & Finance group. In this role, you will provide dedicated support to Partners, Max Allan and Urszula McCormack and their friendly, high‑performing teams.

This full‑time role is suited for someone who enjoys being proactive, thinking ahead and supporting the smooth operation of a high‑volume practice. With strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail, you’ll play a key role in keeping everything on track.

The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:
 

• Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents
• Conducting conflict searches and drafting appointment letters
• Managing diaries, inbox and travel arrangements
• Building and maintaining strong client and internal relationships
• Monitoring deadlines and coordinating any necessary filings or submissions
• Handling billing, expenses and WIP reporting
• Matter management, including opening/closing files, archiving, electronic/physical filing
• Providing general administrative support as required

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and can balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:
 

• At least 3 years’ experience in a legal support role (Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, legal Executive or Legal Secretary)
• Good knowledge of the billing process in a legal environment – Elite 3E experience is highly regarded
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Typing speed of 70+ wpm
• Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail
• Clear and confident communication, with the ability to adapt style to your audience
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and collaborative approach
