Pizza Sous and Pizza Chefs!

About the role

New pizza-focused venue in Abbotsford built by the team behind Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout. We are hiring one Pizza Sous Chef and two Pizza Chefs!

Key responsibilities

Pizza Sous Chef:

• Own dough, sauce, toppings, bake and finish so every pizza meets our new venue standard

• Run prep, service and close with confidence, pizza first, plus the rest of a focused comfort menu

• Lead 1–2 pizza chefs: set the pace, coach the craft, keep the room kind and clear

• Hold quality, hygiene, labelling, dating and food-safety standards without being asked

• Communicate cleanly with floor and bar. Kitchen, floor and guest should feel like one team

• Handle allergies and dietary requests carefully. If you are unsure, stop and check

• Watch waste, portions and prep against the book, we cook with intention, not excess

• Help build prep lists, opening and closing rhythm, and the little rituals that make service feel easy

Pizza Chefs:

• Stretch, top, bake and finish pizza with consistency and pace

• Prep dough, sauce, toppings and mise before service, labelled, dated, ready

• Work the pass cleanly during peak

• Help with the wider kitchen

• Take allergies and dietary tickets seriously. If you are unsure, ask before you cook

• Keep your station wiped, stocked and proud. A clean station is calm service

About you

• You have hands-on pizza-making experience: dough, stretch, bake and finish, not just topping

• Pizza Sous Chef: 2–3 years of serious pizza-making experience

• Pizza Chefs: 1–2 years of pizza-making experience

• You care about consistency. You taste, check, reset and do it again

• You are calm, clear and kind under pressure. No ego on the pass

• You are a good teammate: clear comms, no shouting, no disappearing

• You are happy to learn our new venue way, shaped by the Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout crew

• You are available around 25–30 hours a week across Wednesday to Sunday, with some flexibility

• You have full working rights in Australia

• Food safety / food handler certification is highly regarded
