The opportunity
We’re looking for two proactive and community-minded individuals to help deliver a broad range of regulatory and educational services. As our General Duties Ranger, you will be in a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same. You may be responding to an animal complaint, undertaking patrols, supporting the bulky and illegal waste investigation program, or helping a resident understand their obligations under local laws. You’ll play a key role in upholding Council regulations, with a key focus and priority on parking enforcement, particularly during peak holiday seasons.
This role is for someone who can have difficult conversations with empathy, remain calm under pressure, and confidently apply legislation and policy. We’re looking for someone who understands that the best outcome isn’t always achieved through enforcement.
You’ll be part of a supportive, high-performing team dedicated to making a positive impact across our local government area of Port Stephens.
