Due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of commercial projects, BD Water is seeking an

experienced and motivated Irrigation Leading Hand to join our team.

BD Water delivers complete water management solutions for commercial clients across Perth and

surrounding regions. What sets us apart is our ability to manage projects entirely in-house, from

water licensing and bore construction through to irrigation design, pumping systems, automation,

installation, maintenance and ongoing support.

As our project workload continues to expand, we're looking for a hands-on leader who can take

ownership of site delivery, guide field crews, and help maintain the high standards our clients expect.

The Role

This is a field-based leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of

irrigation and water infrastructure projects across Perth and surrounding areas.

Working closely with the Irrigation Manager, you will lead installation crews, coordinate site

activities, maintain productivity, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to

specification.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supervising irrigation installation crews on-site

• Coordinating daily works and allocating tasks to team members

• Reading and interpreting irrigation plans and project documentation

• Managing site safety, quality control and project standards

• Installing and commissioning commercial irrigation systems

• Assisting with troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance works

• Coordinating materials, equipment and subcontractors on-site

• Liaising with project managers, clients and suppliers as required

• Training and mentoring technicians who are new to the industry

• Providing practical solutions to site challenges and variations

Projects may include:

• Commercial irrigation systems

• Sports grounds and public open space irrigation

• Pump stations and water infrastructure

• Irrigation automation and control systems

• Agricultural and rural water projects

What We Offer

• Full-time employment (minimum 40 hours per week)

• Hourly rate of up to $50 per hour, dependent on experience

• Total package value of approximately $140,000 including vehicle and benefits

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Proven experience in irrigation installation and construction

• Experience leading crews or supervising field teams

• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and drawings

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship

• Ability to problem-solve and make practical decisions on-site

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Ability to work independently while maintaining team productivity

Desirable

• Irrigation Association qualifications

• Experience with commercial irrigation projects

• Pumping, bore or water infrastructure experience

• Excavator, skid steer or other plant operation tickets

• Experience with irrigation controllers, automation or telemetry systems

• HR Licence

• First Aid qualification
