Workshop Diesel Fitter

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced professional with a Mechanical Trade background (such as Diesel Fitter, and Mechanical Fitters etc.) to become a part of Torque Enterprises' thoughtfully chosen and proficient team in Mackay, Queensland on a full-time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on underground loaders and associated mining equipment.

• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

• Conduct overhauls, component rebuilds, and part replacements on diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

• Ensure all equipment is serviced and repaired according to our OEM standards and company policies.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

• Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.

• Collaborate with other team members and provide technical advice when required.

About you

• Drivers Licence.

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or light vehicle Mechanic

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical repairs.

• High Risk Work Licence in Forklift, Overhead, or Gantry Crane. (highly regarded) not essential

• ExDES Maintenance Skill Set. (highly regarded) not essential

• Hydraulics 1 – 4. (highly regarded) not essential

• Efficient work capability independently and within a team.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
