Trailer Repairs / Mechanic General Maintenance

Shamick Transport is seeking a reliable and motivated team member to join our heavy haulage workshop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a fast-paced transport environment.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy haulage equipment, including:

• Carrying out trailer repairs and general mechanical maintenance

• Assisting with servicing, inspections, and repairs of transport equipment

• Supporting fabrication, welding, and modification tasks as required

• Completing general workshop duties and working alongside experienced mechanics

• Maintaining and organising tools, equipment, and work areas

• Helping ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and ready for operation

What We’re Looking For

• Basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn

• Experience or interest in trailer repairs, mechanical maintenance, fabrication, or welding

• Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving

• Ability to work safely and follow workshop procedures

• Reliable, punctual, and team-focused attitude

• Willingness to take on a variety of tasks and assist where required

• Previous heavy transport, mechanical, or fabrication experience is an advantage but not essential
