About the role

Our team at Heritage Dental Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis at our Indooroopilly, QLD practice. This is a pivotal role that supports our dental professionals in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the smooth operation of our clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming environment for our patients whilst ensuring clinical efficiency and upholding the highest standards of dental practice.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, including chairside support and instrument preparation

• Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control protocols in accordance with regulatory standards

• Recording patient information, updating clinical records and managing appointment schedules

• Greeting patients, explaining procedures and helping them feel comfortable throughout their visit

• Assisting with patient education regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care

• Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks and general clinic operations

• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy and data protection regulations

What we're looking for

Completion of a recognised Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent training programme (or willingness to obtain)

• knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, materials and clinical procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for patient care

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and take direction from senior clinical staff

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation

• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Professional demeanour and a friendly, welcoming approach to patient interaction

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience in a dental practice setting, although training will be provided for the right candidate
