About the role

Countryman Motor Inn Cowra is seeking a full-time Accounts Clerk to join our finance team in Cowra, NSW. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation by managing day-to-day accounting operations. As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting department. This role is essential to ensuring our financial systems run efficiently and all accounting procedures comply with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for:

   Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including

  preparing invoices, recording payments, and following up outstanding accounts.

   Maintaining financial records and accounting data, ensuring invoices, receipts,

  purchase orders, and other financial documents are accurately filed and updated.

   Reconciling bank statements and account balances, identifying discrepancies and

  assisting in resolving financial variances.

   Preparing and processing routine financial documents, including payment vouchers,

  expense claims, credit notes, and supplier payments.

   Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including preparing

  reports, compiling financial information, and supporting accountants with

  bookkeeping activities.

What we're looking for

• 2 years Proven experience working as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar accounting support role

• Strong proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy

• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records

• Professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Reliable and trustworthy with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially

• A relevant accounting qualification such as a Certificate in Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Accounting is preferred

• Experience in the hospitality or accommodation sector would be advantageous
