Accounts Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Clerk will support the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of Roebuck Plains Roadhouse, a regional hospitality and accommodation business. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounts processing, record keeping, reporting and general office support.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including verifying invoices, receipts and supporting documentation

• Maintain accurate financial records, including entering transactions and updating accounting systems

• Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, receipts and payment documentation

• Assist with bank reconciliations and reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts

• Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with payment follow-up and account enquiries

• Maintain supplier and customer records and ensure financial information is accurately recorded

• Assist with preparation of routine financial reports, account summaries and management information as required

• Support payroll administration activities, including maintaining employee records and processing payroll-related information

• Communicate with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders regarding accounts and payment-related matters

• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and comply with workplace policies, record-keeping requirements and workplace health and safety procedures

About you

• Minimum 12 months' relevant experience as an Accounts Clerk, Accounts Officer, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper or similar accounting support role

• Relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or business administration is desirable

• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial information and maintaining records

• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider administration team

• Experience working in a hospitality, accommodation, retail or small business environment is desirable
