ACCOUNTANT (GENERAL)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant (General) to provide accounting, taxation and financial reporting services to a diverse range of clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional accounting services and assisting clients with their taxation and financial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities -

Preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports.

Preparing and lodging income tax returns and activity statements.

Preparing financial reports, reconciliations and other accounting documentation.

Preparing and reviewing tax calculations and supporting schedules.

Maintaining and reviewing accounting records and ledgers.

Providing accounting and taxation advice to clients.

Managing client accounts and ensuring work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Using accounting and taxation software to prepare financial reports and tax documentation.

Assisting with trust, company and individual taxation matters.

Preparing consolidated reports and other financial information as required.

Maintaining compliance with Australian taxation and accounting requirements.

Liaising with clients and assisting them with accounting and taxation queries.

Performing other accounting duties relevant to the position.

Skills and Experience Required

Relevant bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related field.

Minimum 1 year of relevant professional accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation principles.

Experience preparing financial statements and taxation returns.

Experience with accounting and taxation software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a professional accounting team.
