EvaKool is looking for an exceptional Management Accountant who wants more than just another accounting role.

We are a proudly Australian business operating an exciting manufacturing and distribution operation from our brand-new headquarters in Burpengary East.

EvaKool is positioned for significant growth, and we’re looking for a highly analytical, commercially minded finance professional who wants to grow with us and ultimately develop into a commercial and financial leader within the business.

You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team working alongside an experienced and highly engaged management group. You’ll be close to the action – our products, customers, manufacturing, inventory, distribution and commercial decisions – and your work will have a direct impact on how we run and grow the business.

This is a full-time, onsite role based at our Burpengary East headquarters, five days a week.

We are a hands-on operating business and believe there is enormous value in working closely together, understanding what is happening across the operation and solving problems collaboratively.

You won’t simply produce monthly accounts.

We want someone who is naturally curious, loves getting deep into the numbers and can turn financial and operational data into meaningful commercial insight.

You’ll work closely with management to understand what is happening, why it is happening and what we should do about it.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Management reporting and detailed analysis of business performance

• Budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling

• Product, customer, channel and margin profitability analysis

• Manufacturing cost and operational performance analysis

• Inventory, working capital and cash flow analysis

• Identifying trends, risks and commercial opportunities

• Developing KPIs, dashboards and management information that drive better decisions

• Working directly with operational and commercial leaders to understand the financial drivers behind performance

• Improving financial reporting, systems and processes

• Supporting investment decisions, business cases and strategic initiatives

As EvaKool grows, we expect the scope and influence of this role to grow with it.

There are a couple of backgrounds that could fit this role particularly well.

Ideally, you will have:

• Approximately 2+ years’ experience in public practice, giving you strong accounting disciplines and technical foundations

• A CA or CPA qualification, or be well progressed toward completion

• Followed by approximately 2+ years in either:

  • a highly analytical Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar role within an operating business; or

  • an analytical consulting role involving financial analysis, modelling, business performance, commercial problem-solving or decision support

• Excellent analytical ability and financial modelling skills

• Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with substantial amounts of financial and operational data

• Strong commercial instincts and an ability to connect the numbers with what is actually happening in the business

• The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders

• Intellectual curiosity and a natural desire to understand why

• The confidence to challenge assumptions and contribute your own ideas

• A proactive approach and desire to continually improve how things are done

We’re less concerned about your exact current job title and much more interested in how you think.

You may currently be a Management Accountant, Commercial Analyst, Finance Analyst, Business Analyst or analytically focused Consultant.

You’ll probably be relatively early in your career but already know you want to go further than traditional accounting.

You enjoy analysis and solving problems. You want to understand how a business actually makes money, gain exposure to senior management and commercial decision-making, and progressively take on greater responsibility.

Over time, you want to become someone who helps lead a business rather than simply report its results.

For the right person, this role can develop from management accounting into broader commercial finance, business performance, strategy and ultimately financial or commercial leadership.

There is no predetermined ceiling on what the right person could ultimately take responsibility for.
