About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function for one of our key operating businesses. You will be an organised and motivated finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and building strong relationships with both suppliers and colleagues.
Key responsibilities
Set up and maintain new supplier accounts, including both local and international suppliers.
Process, code and batch supplier invoices daily, ensuring invoices are accurately coded and allocated to the correct cost centres and general ledger accounts.
Match supplier invoices to approved purchase orders and supporting documentation.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and process weekly and monthly supplier payment runs in accordance with company policies and approval processes.
Prepare and process local and overseas supplier payments.
Reconcile bank, ensuring all payments are accurately recorded and any unreconciled items are investigated and resolved promptly.
Maintain accurate creditor records and ensure supplier accounts remain current.
Respond to supplier enquiries, resolve payment issues and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Manage held or disputed invoices and work with internal stakeholders to achieve timely resolution.
About you
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Assistant Accountant role.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working within a manufacturing or project based environment will be highly regarded.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop and take on additional responsibilities.
Accounting qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Accounting) will be highly regarded.
