About the role

Northern Soul Chip Shop & Caravan Club is looking for a Cook to become a key part of our small, tight-knit team. We're a busy, independent UK & Irish-inspired fish and chip shop and beer garden in the heart of St Kilda. You don't need to be the most experienced cook in Melbourne to apply. Kitchen experience is definitely a plus, but for us, attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important as what's on your CV.

Key responsibilities

• Food preparation and service

• Cooking our core menu consistently and to a high standard

• Working across fryers, pans, plating and prep

• Maintaining excellent food safety and kitchen standards

• Helping with specials and new menu ideas

• Supporting events and other Northern Soul projects

• Learning different sections of the kitchen and developing your skills

About you

• An experienced Cook, or someone with some kitchen experience who's ready to step up

• Reliable and someone your team can count on

• Positive, energetic and easy to work with

• Happy working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen

• Willing to learn and take feedback

• Proud of the food you send out

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team

• Looking for somewhere you can settle in, develop and grow
