About the role

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Bakery Customer Service Assistant to join our team at Boatshed Market in Cottesloe, WA 6011. This is a casual position offering flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our bakery section, delivering outstanding customer service whilst maintaining the highest standards of product quality and presentation. You will play a vital part in creating a positive shopping experience and driving customer satisfaction through your friendly demeanour and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

1. Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, efficient service at the bakery counter

2. Assisting customers with product selections and answering questions about bakery items and ingredients

3. Processing customer transactions accurately and securely using point-of-sale systems

4. Maintaining a clean, hygienic and well-organised bakery display area in accordance with food safety standards

5. Restocking shelves and displays with bakery products whilst ensuring items are presented attractively

6. Handling fresh bakery items with care, following proper food handling procedures

7. Supporting the bakery team with additional tasks as required to ensure smooth daily operations

8. Responding to customer enquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy

9. Adhering to company policies, procedures and health and safety guidelines at all times

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in customer service or retail environments, preferably in a food or bakery setting

2. Excellent communication skills with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service

3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation

4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously

5. Reliability and flexibility, with the capacity to adapt to varying shift patterns inherent in casual work

6. A positive, friendly and professional attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile
