About the opportunity
Are you ready to shape the future of Northern Beef in WA?
There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.
Step into a unique leadership role where science, industry and innovation come together to drive the future of beef production in northern Western Australia. We are seeking a strategic and motivated Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of Phase 2 of the Northern Beef Program. This is a rare opportunity to drive the next stage of a flagship initiative that supports innovation, productivity and sustainable growth across Western Australia's northern pastoral beef industry.
We are looking for an experienced leader with a genuine passion for the northern beef sector, strong stakeholder engagement skills and a vision for advancing industry outcomes. In this role, you will work with researchers, producers, industry partners and government to guide the program's next chapter and deliver lasting benefits to the northern beef industry.
This exciting leadership opportunity within the Animal Systems Directorate combines broad directorate responsibilities with a pivotal program leadership role. As Project Manager you will lead the project strategic planning, governance, coordination, and delivery, ensuring initiatives are aligned with directorate priorities and deliver measurable benefits for industry, communities, and stakeholders across the north of WA. You will oversee a portfolio of projects, manage budgets and resources, identify funding opportunities, and ensure outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.
Your knowledge of the northern pastoral beef industry, combined with your leadership, influencing and strategic thinking skills, will be critical to securing investment, driving collaboration and delivering impactful outcomes for the industry.
We are looking for individuals with:
Substantial experience in complex project management, ideally within the northern beef industry; with a proven ability to lead initiatives and deliver agreed outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.
Ability to build and manage strategic partnerships, collaborative relationships, and effective stakeholder networks.
A collaborative leadership style, positive attitude and commitment to fostering strong working relationships and supporting team success.
Well-developed analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive practical solutions.
Experience developing business cases, securing funding and progressing initiatives that align with industry and organisational priorities.
An understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the northern pastoral beef industry, with the ability to translate industry needs into meaningful outcomes.
