Our client is a well-established and growing bricklaying company seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to become an integral part of their team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to management, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day finance and administration of the business, including:

• End-to-end payroll processing.

• Accounts payable and supplier payment management.

• Accounts receivable and debtor management.

• Preparing and issuing customer invoices.

• Daily bank reconciliations.

• Processing and lodging superannuation payments.

• Monitoring PAYG, GST, payroll tax and other statutory obligations.

• Assisting with BAS preparation and compliance requirements.

• Maintaining accurate accounting records within Xero.

• Liaising with management, suppliers and customers.

• Liaising with the company's external accountants regarding taxation and compliance matters.

• Preparing financial reports for management.

• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies.

• Ensuring all financial obligations and reporting deadlines are met.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has at least 5 years' experience in bookkeeping, payroll or accounts.

• Has strong knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Is highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

• Can work independently and take ownership of their role.

• Is proactive and enjoys identifying solutions before problems arise.

• Can prioritise competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Is confident using accounting software (Xero experience highly regarded).

• Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism.

Construction industry experience will be highly regarded.
