About the Role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking an experienced, detail-focused and service-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our collaborative Finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the School’s accounts receivable function, supporting the financial operations of both Canberra Grammar School and the CGS Foundation.

This is more than a transactional finance role. You will build trusted relationships with families, colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring every interaction is handled with accuracy, professionalism and care.

As a key member of the Whole School Finance Team, you will:

• Manage the accurate and timely billing, receipting and collection of School fees and other revenue
• Oversee fee administration, debtor management, reconciliations and reporting
• Provide responsive and professional support to families and stakeholders
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
• Identify opportunities to strengthen systems, processes and service delivery
• Contribute to broader Finance team priorities and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You are organised, approachable and confident working in a busy financial environment. You bring sound judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive financial matters with discretion and empathy.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in accounts receivable, fee administration or a similar finance role
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Confidence using financial systems and a range of digital applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to a team environment

• Appropriate qualifications
• A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
• A current National Police Check; and
• Full working rights within Australia
