Our client is a well-established Chartered Accounting and Advisory firm and part of a global network spanning more than 90 countries. Based in Sydney CBD, the firm delivers audit, tax and advisory services to a diverse client base including privately owned businesses, not-for-profits, manufacturing groups, property businesses and growing corporate entities. 

The audit division is led by experienced Partners and Directors, and offers a collaborative environment where professionals gain meaningful client exposure, strong technical development and clear progression opportunities. With a stable team and continued growth plans, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced auditor seeking greater responsibility and leadership exposure. 

The Role: 

• Lead and coordinate external audit engagements from planning through to completion 

• Supervise, review and support junior team members throughout audit assignments 

• Manage day-to-day client relationships and act as a key point of contact during engagements 

• Review audit workpapers, testing and financial reporting documentation 

• Work across a diverse portfolio of small, medium and larger private entities, not-for-profits and corporate groups 

• Assist Managers and Partners in delivering high-quality audit and assurance outcomes 

• Identify risk areas, technical issues and opportunities for process improvement 

• Participate in client meetings and contribute to engagement planning and reporting 

• Support the development of junior staff through mentoring, coaching and technical guidance 

• Assist with special projects and advisory-related engagements as opportunities arise 

About You: 

• 5+ years' external audit experience within an Australian Chartered or CPA firm 

• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion) 

• Experience leading audit engagements and reviewing the work of junior staff 

• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and auditing requirements 

• Proven client relationship and stakeholder management skills 

• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes 

• Motivated to progress towards Audit Manager level in the near future 

• Experience using CaseWare or similar audit software highly regarded
