Casual Butcher - Retail Store

Wesfresh, located in Blacktown, NSW, is looking for a motivated and reliable Casual Butcher to join our retail team.

An immediate start is available for the right candidate.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous butcher experience, as well as chefs or candidates with strong knife-handling skills who are looking to develop their skills and build a career in the meat industry.

About the Role

You will work as part of our retail butcher team, assisting with the preparation, cutting, packing and presentation of fresh meat products while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

Hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
Availability: Monday to Thursday and Saturday

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cutting meat for display and customer orders

• Slicing and tray packing

• Sausage making, crumbing, seasoning and marinating

• Weighing and packaging products

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

• Following food safety and workplace safety procedures

• Providing friendly customer service

About You

• Previous butcher experience is preferred but not essential

• Bandsaw experience is an advantage

• Chef, kitchen or strong knife-handling experience is welcome

• Willingness to learn and develop new skills

• Reliable, physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Certificate III in Meat Processing is an advantage but not essential
