Carer - Home Care

At Home Care Helpers, we are passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals while living independently at home and we are just as committed to our employees who carry out the important role of providing care and support to our diverse range of wonderful clients. You must be able to travel between clients’ homes, by providing your own transport, and you will need to provide mandatory background checks such as a current police check, if you don't have one, we can advise you how to obtain one. You will need patience, compassion and an ability to listen well, so you can support clients with the things that really matter to them, even on the difficult days.

Stamina to meet both the physical and emotional demands of providing care and support is also essential. The ability to think clearly in a crisis and to keep calm is necessary to provide the best care for our clients. You could be cooking a T-bone steak or carrying out general light household duties in client’s homes such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.

It is the sort of cleaning you would do in your own home and the client will provide you with the cleaning products and equipment for you to use. If there are no clients requiring care services during your rostered hours, you may be asked to assist with administration tasks such as answering phone calls or marketing tasks such as letter box drops.
