Electrician/Cabler

About the role

Red Centre Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Electrician/Cabler to join our team on a full-time basis in Alice Springs, NT. This is a strategic role that combines traditional electrical expertise with modern cabling and data infrastructure work, supporting the critical technology and power systems that keep our operations running effectively. You will be instrumental in maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting both electrical systems and communication cabling infrastructure across our facilities and client sites.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and wiring in compliance with relevant Australian electrical standards and regulations

• Performing cabling work including data cabling, network infrastructure installation, and telecommunications cabling

• Diagnosing electrical faults and implementing corrective solutions to restore systems to full operational capacity

• Testing electrical installations and cabling systems using appropriate diagnostic equipment and ensuring all work meets safety standards

• Reading and interpreting electrical plans, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and maintenance work

• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical and cabling systems

• Liaising with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and provide professional technical advice

• Maintaining detailed records of work completed, materials used, and any issues identified

• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times

What we're looking for

• Current Australian electrical license or equivalent qualification demonstrating competency as an electrician

• Proven experience in both general electrical work and cabling installation (data, telecommunications, or similar)

• Solid understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and Australian Standards relevant to electrical installation and safety

• Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, circuit testers, and insulation testers

• Knowledge of cabling standards, network infrastructure, and best practices in data and communications cabling

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when diagnosing and resolving electrical issues

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and a genuine dedication to workplace health and safety

• Flexibility and willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training in emerging technologies
