Facilities Coordinator – Currambena Preschool & Primary School

Location: Lane Cove, Sydney
Employment Type: Highly flexible part-time role, averaging two days per week. Hours may vary week to week depending on maintenance requirements.

Part -Time Primary School Facilities Coordinator

Currambena is an independent, progressive preschool and primary school with a long history of nurturing, child-centred education.

We're looking for a practical, organised and community-minded Facilities Coordinator to help keep our unique learning environment safe, welcoming and well cared for.

This is a hands-on role with part practical maintenance, and part planning and coordination; working closely with staff, contractors and the Educational Coordinator to keep our school running smoothly.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for:

·         Coordinating day-to-day maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment

·         Developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules and asset plans

·         Sourcing quotes and coordinating contractors and maintenance projects

·         Monitoring facilities and getting ahead of issues before they arise

·         Ensuring all maintenance activity meets WHS and legislative requirements

·         Working with the Educational Coordinator to prioritise what matters most

·         Keeping accurate maintenance records and documentation

·         Rolling up your sleeves for hands-on repairs and ad hoc tasks as needed

·         Helping create a safe, attractive environment for children, families and staff

About You

·         Experienced in facilities and maintenance

·         Familiarity with asset management systems or preventative maintenance planning

·         Experience coordinating contractors and managing maintenance projects

·         Basic computer skills for maintaining records and documentation

·         Organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities

·         A confident communicator who builds good relationships with staff, contractors and suppliers

·         Current Working with Children Check

·         Previous experience working in a school, early childhood or education setting

·         Knowledge of the NSW Child Safe Standards and a commitment to child-safe practices as well as a solid understanding of WHS requirements.
