About the role
We are a growing Australian migration and ART appeals practice specialising in complex migration matters, visa refusals and cancellations, ART reviews, and strategic visa applications.
Our work often involves matters that require more than standard application processing. We place a strong emphasis on accurate legal analysis, strategic thinking, clear client communication and high professional standards.
We are now looking for an experienced Registered Migration Agent / Senior Registered Migration Agent to join our team.
This is not a purely administrative or file-processing role. We are looking for someone who can independently assess matters, provide clear and practical migration advice, communicate confidently with clients, and take ownership of both the technical and client-facing aspects of their work.
100% Remote – Work from Anywhere in Australia
Competitive remuneration based on experience and capability
Exposure to complex migration matters, refusals, cancellations and ART appeals
Strong professional development
Opportunity to work alongside experienced migration professionals
A structured virtual working environment with strong team support
A culture that values professional judgement, accountability and high-quality work
Genuine opportunity to develop both technical and client consultation skills
As part of our migration team, you will be responsible for managing and advising on a range of migration matters from initial consultation through to case strategy and ongoing client management.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting detailed client consultations and identifying the key legal, factual and strategic issues in each matter
Assessing visa eligibility, risks and available migration pathways
Providing clear, practical and commercially appropriate migration advice
Developing case strategies for both straightforward and complex migration matters
Managing visa applications and other migration matters to a high professional standard
Reviewing refusal decisions, cancellation matters and ART appeal cases where appropriate
Conducting migration law and policy research when required
Preparing and reviewing written submissions, statements and supporting documentation
Identifying weaknesses, inconsistencies and evidentiary issues before they become case problems
Explaining complex migration issues to clients in clear and understandable language
Building client trust through accurate advice, sound judgement and professional communication
Converting suitable prospective clients into engagements through high-quality consultations and clear professional advice
Maintaining strong file progress, client communication and service standards
Working collaboratively with Case Managers and other members of the migration team
Providing guidance or quality control support to junior team members where appropriate
You will be a currently Registered Migration Agent in Australia with strong migration knowledge and the confidence to work independently.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Current registration as an Australian Registered Migration Agent
Strong practical knowledge of Australian migration law, policy and procedure
Previous experience managing migration matters independently
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify both obvious and less obvious risks in a matter
Excellent written English, particularly for professional correspondence and migration submissions
Strong client consultation and communication skills
The ability to explain complicated migration issues in plain and practical language
Confidence in discussing strategy, professional fees and engagement with prospective clients
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a remote working environment
A high level of personal accountability and attention to detail
Sound professional judgement and integrity
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous professional development
Experience with visa refusals, cancellations, complex migration matters and ART appeals will be highly regarded.
This role involves significant client interaction.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking with prospective and existing clients, identifying what they actually need, and providing clear professional recommendations.
Strong consultation performance is an important part of the role.
We do not expect aggressive sales techniques. Successful client conversion should come from professional knowledge, clear communication, sound judgement and the confidence clients gain from speaking with you.
Success in this position is not measured simply by the number of files completed.
We value:
Accurate and well-reasoned migration advice
Strong technical and strategic judgement
High-quality consultations
Clear and responsive client communication
Consistent file progress and case ownership
Strong client engagement outcomes
Professional integrity and accountability
A willingness to identify problems early rather than simply process files
Continued improvement in technical knowledge and professional capability
This role will suit someone who enjoys solving migration problems, takes ownership of their work and wants to continue developing as a migration professional.
You may particularly enjoy this position if you prefer work that requires analysis, judgement and strategy, rather than simply following standard application processes.
We are a high-performance professional environment, but we also believe that good work requires clear systems, strong team support and sustainable professional development.
If you value high standards, professional autonomy, continuous learning and meaningful client work, we would be pleased to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your CV together with a brief introduction outlining your migration experience, current MARA registration status and the types of migration matters you have primarily worked on.
