Maintenance Fitter

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join Prime Engineering & Pumping Solutions Pty Ltd in Gunnedah, NSW. This is a full-time position in working in maintenance and service of CHPP & Mining equipment and systems. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring our client machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency, minimising downtime and supporting the productivity of our operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability and performance of our industrial systems.

What you'll be doing

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and servicing of industrial machinery and equipment

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and malfunctions in a timely manner

• Repair and replace worn or damaged components to restore equipment to optimal working condition

• Conduct preventative maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend asset lifespan

• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation of all work performed

• Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise operational disruption

• Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements and procedures

• Support the continuous improvement of maintenance practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing

What we're looking for

• Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in mechanical fitting, machining or related trade

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in an industrial, mining or manufacturing environment

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Current or ability to obtain relevant safety certifications as required ( W@H, Confined space, EWP, Dogging and rigging)

• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work

• Current drivers license
