Maintenance Fitter

About the role

Unasco Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Girraween, NSW. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our production equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. This full-time role is an integral part of our well-established Trades & Services team.

What you'll be doing

1. Performing scheduled and preventive maintenance on a variety of production machinery and equipment

2. Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implementing appropriate solutions

3. Conducting inspections, testing, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance of equipment

4. Documenting maintenance activities and providing detailed reports on the condition of equipment

5. Collaborating with the production team to minimise downtime and maintain seamless operations

6. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment

7. Providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the maintenance team

What we're looking for

1. Formal qualification in mechanical engineering or a related trade, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent

2. Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) as a Maintenance Fitter or Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting

3. Proficient in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues

5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

6. Commitment to workplace health and safety, with a proactive approach to risk management

7. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
