IT Manager

THE ROLE

This is a rare opportunity to lead IT across a diverse, national business where technology plays a critical role in keeping our operations connected, secure and moving forward. Working closely with key stakeholders across the Group, you will ensure our systems, applications and technology platforms are reliable, effective and aligned to the needs of the business today, while helping shape the IT roadmap for the future. 

You will play a key role in assessing our current IT environment, strengthening our systems and processes, and identifying practical opportunities to improve capability, security and efficiency. This includes supporting our ERP system, QAD, the Microsoft 365 suite and a range of other business-critical platforms, as well as exploring emerging technologies that can add real value across the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of IT systems across the business

• Develop and implement cutting-edge IT strategies and procedures

• Administer databases, networks, and systems with a focus on optimisation and security

• Auditing systems and assessing their outcomes.

• Preserving assets, information security and control structures

• Managing annual budgets, with a focus on cost effectiveness

THE PERSON

We are seeking a candidate with a strong and diverse IT background, ideally from a national, multisite organisation. You may currently be a senior member of an established team eager to step into IT management. As our ideal IT Manager, you will be hands-on, having a solutions-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across all business areas. Your expertise in cybersecurity and risk management will be essential, ensuring that all systems not only support business objectives but also safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities. 

Requirements of the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in IT would be ideal and advantageous

• Any relevant system or cloud certifications

• Previous hands-on experience in a senior IT role

• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships

• Experience in managing both traditional and cloud-based infrastructure

• Ability to understand business needs and convert into practical technical solutions

• Strategic planning of IT systems to support future business goals

• Experience with mentoring to build internal capability
