Our client is a global insurance business with a significant Australian presence and a large in-house technology function. The business is investing in enterprise architecture, digital capability and AI-enabled platforms, modernising the corporate systems that support its people, legal and risk functions.

About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Enterprise Architect, you will lead solution design across the Global Platforms portfolio, covering People, Legal and Risk. You will partner with Enterprise Architecture, delivery, platform and vendor teams to shape scalable, well-governed solutions and ensure initiatives are properly defined before they enter delivery.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Principal Enterprise Architect to produce solution designs for the portfolio and maintain end-to-end solution integrity through delivery
• Lead early-stage assessment of new platforms, including vendor solutions, SaaS products and business applications, delivering options analysis and clear recommendations ahead of procurement
• Design integration approaches across cloud based platforms and external services, covering APIs, orchestration, event-driven patterns and workflow
• Support the introduction of AI-enabled and digital capability into corporate platforms, assessing operating model, process and governance implications
• Work with business sponsors, delivery teams, platform teams and third-party vendors to balance business value, architecture standards, risk and delivery feasibility

Skills and Experience

• Extensive solution architecture experience across corporate functions within insurance or financial services
• Proven track record leading solution architecture through delivery, not design alone
• Experience designing digital platforms and digital employee experiences
• Strong capability across APIs, orchestration, event-driven architecture, workflow and rules-based design
• Experience defining integration patterns across cloud based platforms and external services
• Strong grounding in non-functional architecture, including performance, scalability, resilience, observability, security and supportability
• Ability to identify risk early, assess feasibility and articulate trade-offs clearly
• Experience working with third-party vendors and external delivery partners
• Strong governance and communication capability across both technical and business audiences
• Experience adapting shared enterprise capability to local market requirements
• Desirable: AI-enabled solutions, corporate platforms such as Workday, and enterprise portfolio management tools such as Planview
