Qualified Chef / Cook

The Spirited Goat is looking for passionate and reliable Chefs/Cooks to join our team across our two Townsville locations — The Precinct - Idalia, and The Strand.

We are a busy hospitality business offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. We pride ourselves on quality food, great customer experiences and creating opportunities for our team to develop and progress within the hospitality industry.

We are looking for people who are hardworking, reliable and take pride in what they do. Whether you are a qualified Chef or an experienced Cook, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce hygiene and food safety regulations.

• Train and support cooks, kitchen hands and other kitchen staff.

• Oversee and manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including stock ordering.

• Design, prepare and create high-quality dishes for our customers.

• Ensure kitchen and equipment comply with hygiene and safety regulations.

• Ensure food is properly preserved and stored in appropriate facilities.

• Training and supporting cooks, kitchen hands and other kitchen staff where required

• Working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen

About You

We are looking for reliable, hardworking team members with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and passion for quality food, who can work well under pressure and contribute positively to a busy kitchen team. Previous commercial kitchen experience is preferred.

As a chef, applicants must hold a recognised Commercial Cookery qualification (Certificate III or above) and have relevant experience working in a commercial kitchen.

The roles will require flexibility, including weekend and evening availability depending on the location.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent / Evening shifts /Weekend availability Commercial Cookery Qualification: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Preferred). Experience: Chef: 2 years (minimum) Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000 per year
