Chef de Partie

Elementi Restaurant is looking for a skilled, experienced Chef De Partie to join our small team in a neighborhood Italian Restaurant in Paddington, QLD.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $77,000-$80,000 per year. The salary is based on 38 hours a week.

We are looking for someone with a great sense of responsibility, work in a team and

eagerness to learn and grow within the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:

• Studying recipes and preparing high quality Italian dishes
• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu development contributing to a teamwork environment
• Delegating tasks and ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner.
• Set up kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Informing wait staff about daily specials and contributing to a rotating creative special
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise cooks and assist as needed
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (i.e. dietary restrictions, allergies, slight modifications such as reduce salt, remove dairy etc.)
• Ensure ingredients are fresh and of quality and discard out-of-date items
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (i.e. grillers, pasta machines, dough machines, meat slicers etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of cooking, baking and pastry techniques
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations

Qualifications:

Minimum one to two year of proven experience as a chef

Relevant qualifications preferred but not essential
