About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our Canberra team on a six-month fixed-term, part-time basis, working 45 hours per fortnight. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about continuous improvement, compliance, and supporting excellence in service delivery across the organisation.

The Coordinator - Quality Assurance assists the Continuous Improvement Manager to maintain quality assurance activities, support and conduct internal audits, monitor corrective actions, strengthen compliance with relevant aged care and NDIS regulatory requirements, and promote a practical culture of continuous improvement across Valmar's services.

The role works collaboratively with managers, coordinators, staff and stakeholders to ensure services are safe, compliant, person-centred and aligned with Valmar's quality management framework, policies, procedures and values.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

1. Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, compliance, risk management, audit, governance or continuous improvement, preferably within aged care, disability, community services, health or another regulated human services environment.
2. Knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory frameworks, such as NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Quality and Safeguards requirements, Aged Care Quality Standards, WHS obligations and/or related compliance frameworks.
3. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, audit findings, action plans, correspondence and documentation.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret information, identify trends and recommend practical improvements.
5. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, record keeping and compliance monitoring.
6. Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and support staff across different service areas.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and follow up actions to completion.
8. High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and ability to use organisational systems for quality, risk, incident or compliance management.
9. Ability to obtain and maintain a NDIS Worker Screening check clearance.

Desirable:

1. Previous experience working in an aged care, NDIS, disability, community services or not-for-profit environment.
2. Experience using CAMMS or similar incident, risk, quality or compliance management systems.
3. Experience conducting audits, accreditation, certification or verification processes.
4. Training or certification in quality management, auditing, risk management, continuous improvement or similar methodology.

Qualifications and Licences:

• Hold at least a Certificate IV and must work towards the attainment of a Diploma in Quality Management, Community Services, Disability, Aged Care, Compliance, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.
• Current Australian driver licence.
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
• Full Australian working rights.
