About the role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Demolition & Asbestos Labourer to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse projects in the demolition and asbestos removal sectors. You will play a vital role in supporting our demolition and asbestos abatement operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and upholding strict safety protocols across all our sites.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the safe demolition of buildings, structures, and other facilities under supervision

• Preparing work sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and organising work areas

• Operating hand and power tools safely and competently as directed

• Loading, unloading, and transporting demolition waste and asbestos-containing materials to appropriate disposal facilities

• Maintaining strict adherence to all health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Following environmental and legal requirements for waste disposal and material handling

• Assisting with site cleanup and restoration following project completion

• Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure safe work practices

• Supporting senior tradespeople and supervisors with general labour tasks as required

What we're looking for

• A strong commitment to health and safety practices, with a willingness to follow all site protocols and procedures

• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding labour safely and effectively

• Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to work on a casual basis

• Basic competency in operating hand tools and power tools

• Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• The ability to take direction and follow instructions from supervisors

• Preferably, some experience in construction, demolition, general labour, or related fields

• Relevant qualifications such as White Card (Construction Induction), asbestos awareness training, or other construction safety certifications are highly valued

• A valid driver's licence

• The ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
