Senior Civil Structural Designer

CPC Engineering is a multi-disciplined engineering design, construction and project management company with a strong reputation for delivering professional, practical and cost-effective services to the resource industry.
We are seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Designer and a Senior Civil / Structural Designer to join our Drawing Office on a staff basis. Contract terms will also be considered for suitable candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for designers with a strong background in minerals processing to contribute to the design and delivery of major projects across gold, copper and nickel operations. The Civil / Structural Designer role will cover: Preparation of civil and structural drawings including foundations, footings, platforms, walkways, structural steelwork and general arrangementsDetailing of structural steel connections, bulk material handling structures and equipment support structuresProduction of concept, preliminary and detailed design drawings through to construction-ready issueWorking from engineer's calculations, sketches and markups to produce accurate, fit-for-purpose drawingsCoordination and clash detection with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical) in a multi-disciplinary environmentMaintaining drawing registers, revision control and documentation in line with company and client standardsSite measure-ups and verification of existing conditions where requiredLiaising with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure design intent is accurately captured
About you: Trade or tertiary qualification in Drafting, Design or a related disciplineProven experience as a Civil/Structural Designer within the resources or minerals processing sectorProficiency in Autodesk products, and ideally Advanced SteelSound understanding of Australian structural and civil design standardsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables to deadlinesA collaborative, team-first approach and clear communication skills
